La Mexicana Restaurant & Grocery
About This Spot
Stepping into La Mexicana Restaurant & Grocery feels like a gentle pause from the daily rush, a spot where the spirited heart of Mexican street food meets the welcoming rhythm of a close-knit neighborhood hub. The space hums with a relaxed, easy-going energy — lively but never overwhelming — where the chatter of families, friends, and familiar faces fills the air alongside the comforting aromas of fresh, vibrant ingredients.
This is a place where time slows just enough to savor more than just the meal. Plates come alive with the color and warmth of slow-cooked meats, fresh salsas, and hand-crafted tortillas, inviting you to share moments over tender bites of carnitas or the richly seasoned lengua tacos. The atmosphere encourages casual conversation and shared discoveries, whether it’s a first time visiting or a return to well-loved flavors. The accompanying grocery store is a natural extension of this experience, offering a taste of home through its aisles of authentic ingredients, perfect for those who appreciate the deeper stories food can tell.
Families and solo diners alike find comfort here in the unpretentious service and hearty portions — it’s a place where the friendly pace and genuine care for every dish make you want to linger, learn, and come back for more. Whether you’re drawn by the promise of familiar favorites or the curiosity to explore something new like a tlayuda or a refreshing jamaica juice, La Mexicana feels less like a stop and more like a connection to a vibrant cultural mosaic.

Absolutely delicious! I got three tacos- al pastor, carnitas, and chorizo, all were incredible. Margarita was sufficient. Rice and beans were ok. Overall a great place and the attached grocery store is very nice!

Wonderful little restaurant. Service was fast and friendly. The food...the best we've had outside of Mexico! Very family friendly. When finished eating, check out the attached Mexican Grocery (fyi...they sell elotes in the grocery. We did not see it on the restaurant menu.) Highly recommended!

Food is so good!! Super affordable and big portions, too. They are also very fast and courteous with their service. Can't wait to come back and try more things (as well as hit up the grocery store section)

Stopped in with the family from out of town. Delicious food and super friendly service. We'll come back next time we're in town for sure! Highly recommend the enchiladas, yum!

Authentic Mexican food with other south American influences. The atmosphere is basic, but food is delicious with good value for the portion sizes. The guacamole is very tasty. The menu is not huge, but there are some original dishes and variations. Definitely try the tacos, carnitas or Al pastor. The flaun is a delicious dessert to end the meal. Parking is tight, but there is more around back. There were many Spanish and Mexican people eating there when we were so it speaks to thr native flavors they offer. Don't forget to drop by the store for some different foods you can't find elsewhere.
